Best AI Software for Remote Podcast Recording (From Real Experience)

Riverside FM is the best AI software for recording remote podcast interviews.

We learned the hard way after trying some of the most popular tools out there.

The big lesson we learned when choosing software to record our remote interviews was to forget about the marketing hype and choose a product that focuses on the main feature you want.

We originally chose Descript to make our AI Growth Hacking Podcast.

We chose Descript because it appeared to have more features than Riverside (although both products have a ton of features with more coming out all the time.)

But the big takeaway was this:

Why?

Riverside created this remote recording feature in-house, and it was the main feature they focused on.

Descript started off as more of an AI video editing platform. It didn't even create this remote recording software itself. It bought Squadcast and slowly tried to integrate Squadcast inside of Descript.

The idea was great, but the execution was pretty buggy. We didn't get the full HD sound we were hoping for all the time.

Remote recording is supposed to record each person's audio and video natively on each computer. Then at the end of the podcast (or interview), the software splices everything together into a seamless HD final result.

The bottom line is that Riverside did a better job. Editing was also easier in Riverside.

This doesn't mean that Descript is bad. We still use it for its other AI video features.

Adobe is another option, but not quite as good as either Riverside or Descript.

If you need the best audio and video quality when recording remote interviews, I'd definitely go with Riverside.
